Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Specialist Nurse to join our inpatient care team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nursing care support recovery efforts and play a key role in managing patients with substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders within an inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with substance use psychiatric disorders.
- Conduct assessments develop individualized care plans and implement evidencebased interventions.
- Administer medications including those used in medicationassisted treatment (MAT) and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians psychiatrists social workers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and families about substance use and psychiatric disorders treatment options and recovery strategies.
- Participate in case conferences treatment planning meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Qualifications: - Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) is an asset.
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience preferably in substance use treatment mental health or inpatient care.
- Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced multidisciplinary environment.
