Job Description

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS ANALYST (STARLINK)

Starlink will provide highspeed broadband around the world helping to connect the unserved and underserved. As a member of the Global Government Affairs team you will help enable Starlinks expansion internationally supporting our team of inhouse lobbyists.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support global business government affairs and international rollout of Starlink
  • Monitor investigate and evaluate international digital connectivity programs and governmentsponsored broadband initiatives in tandem with the government sales team
  • Engage with foreign governments to support initial evaluation of program requirements eligibility and available funding for such programs in support of global business team
  • Assist with policy matters related to foreign direct investment satellite and spectrum policy market entry regulatory fees strategic technologies and internet connectivity
  • Monitor developments in US foreign policy trade agreements and geopolitics related to telecom & space policy; engage with U.S. Government foreign policy officials as needed
  • Support senior director in overall coordination of government affairs team activities tracking and the development of collateral advocacy materials policy research and other similar functions
  • Develop and maintain tracking tool relating to governmentfunded broadband initiatives in strategic markets

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2 years of experience working on legislative or foreign policy matters in government or within the private sector

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Multilingual with at least conversational proficiency
  • Experience working studying or conducting research outside of the U.S.
  • Strong communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills
  • Outstanding demonstrated research skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and firsthand experience creating and managing dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI Looker Excel modeling or similar data manipulation tool)
  • Experience working on issues directly related to space policy and telecommunications
  • Knowledge of intergovernmental institutions such as World Bank IMF ITU UNOOSA etc.
  • Experience working with foreign Ministries on complex projects and/or highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of telecommunications launch vehicles satellites and space technology
  • Direct experience in achieving definitive foreign policy outcomes
  • Passion for SpaceXs mission and goals particularly connecting disconnected and historically underserved areas

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel internationally
  • Flexibility required including long hours and weekend work when necessary to support operations and critical project timelines
  • Must be willing to attend political and industry events on behalf of SpaceX

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (aka green card holder) (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157 or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158 or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
