SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the safety and security of campus as well as patrol operations and performing investigative duties. This is a night shift position. Three 12hour shifts per week 7pm 7am.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires an Associates degree (A.A) from a twoyear college or technical school; one to three years experience (in the field of criminal justice); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
1. Understanding of security and safety related matters.
2. Training and experience in police and/or security work preferred.
3. Training in basic first aid and emergency medical procedures preferred.
4. Crisis intervention skills are necessary.
5. Training and experience using defensive tactics is preferred.
6. Understanding of incident command and emergency management.
7. Training and experience with firearms is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS include
1. Walking and standing.
2. Driving an automobile on public roads and highways are critical.
3. Lifting and carrying of objects weighing 520 lbs. or more.
4. Climbing ladders scaffolding and the like are essential.

Special Instructions to Applicants: Campus Safety officer positions REQUIRE the ability to work twelvehour shifts including weekends and holidays.You will be REQUIRED to work an assigned shift rotation with three 12hour shifts per week and must be available on the days assigned. You will be REQUIRED to attend quarterly firearms training and other annual training as assigned.
