About St Josephs Specialist Trust
St Josephs are more than just a school theyre a supportive community where youll help young people aged 519 with complex learning needs social communication challenges and sometimes difficult behaviours. Their approach combines therapy and education to ensure all students can grow and thrive regardless of their challenges.
Situated in 22 acres of the beautiful Surrey Hills between Guildford and Horsham theyre a closeknit team supporting 75 students in school and college and 11 tenants in our supported living houses. As a Catholic provision rooted in Christian values they welcome students and staff of all backgrounds and beliefs.
What Youll Be Doing
In this role youll gain valuable experience while supporting students in various ways including:
- Assisting teachers in creating engaging supportive and structured learning environments.
- Working oneonone or with small groups helping students with activities both in the classroom and in the community.
- Supporting with offsite activities like visits to leisure centres or local shops helping students build life skills.
- Encouraging teamwork and positive attitudes by facilitating shared ideas and activities among students.
Apprenticeship Overview
- Salary: 7 an hour with an automatic pay rise after one year (for apprentices aged 19.
- Hours: Monday Friday 8.30 am 4.15 pm 36 hours per week).
- Duration: 18 months with training provided by expert tutors.
- Qualification: Earn a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship certificate helping set up your career in education!
