Job Description

Purpose:

The Head of Commercial (B2B) will be responsible for driving the businesstobusiness (B2B) strategy expanding market presence and building highvalue strategic relationships within Nigeria’s oil & gas manufacturing and industrial sectors. The role requires a seasoned commercial leader with deep industry connections in multinational oil and gas companies as well as largescale manufacturing firms where personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential. The ideal candidate will be adept at securing longterm contracts growing the company’s revenue pipeline and ensuring a robust distributorship network across Nigeria.

The candidate must be capable of leading and developing a highperforming commercial team that consistently delivers on revenue targets. This role demands a resultsdriven leader with strong networking abilities exceptional negotiation skills and a deep understanding of strategic business development within the safety footwear and PPE industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Business Development & Strategic Partnerships:

Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decisionmakers in multinational oil & gas corporations largescale manufacturing companies and major industrial players.

Develop and execute an aggressive commercial strategy to penetrate and expand the organisation’s presence in industries where PPE is a requirement.

Identify and secure largescale strategic partnerships to drive longterm business growth rather than oneoff orders.

Leverage existing networks to fasttrack sales pipelines and win contracts worth at least .00 within the first year.

Collaborate with regulatory bodies trade associations and industry leaders to position the business as the preferred supplier of safety footwear.

2. Sales & Revenue Growth:

Achieve monthly quarterly and annual sales targets by closing highvalue deals with major industry players.

Develop a structured revenue generation strategy ensuring a consistent inflow of business from corporate clients and distribution partners.

Drive contract negotiations ensuring favorable terms for while maintaining longterm client relationships.

Work closely with the Finance and Supply Chain teams to structure invoice financing solutions that facilitate seamless transactions with large clients.

3. Distributorship & Market Expansion:

Develop and manage a nationwide distributorship network to ensure product availability in all major PPE distribution channels.

Strengthen partnerships with PPE distributors ensuring safety footwear remains the preferred choice across the country.

Monitor competitor activity and market trends leveraging insights to optimize market position and product offerings.

Ensure strong aftersales support and customer relationship management for key distributors and bulk buyers.

4. Leveraging Events for Business Growth

Strategically leverage industry events trade shows and exhibitions to establish and strengthen relationships with key decisionmakers in multinational oil and gas companies manufacturing plants and major PPE distributors.

Organize and participate in networking events corporate roundtables and private industry meetings to create visibility for the products.

Host exclusive product showcases executive briefings and thought leadership sessions that reinforce the brand’s value proposition.

Utilize events as a key tool for driving engagement unlocking new opportunities and facilitating multimillion naira contract closures.

5. Leadership & Team Development:

Build and lead a highperforming Commercial team capable of consistently delivering on business targets.

Define clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Commercial team ensuring measurable performance outcomes.

Train mentor and develop the salesforce to enhance their negotiation relationship management and revenuegeneration capabilities.

Foster a culture of high performance accountability and excellence within the Commercial team.

6. Strategic Account Management & Customer Relations:

Establish structured account management plans for highvalue clients ensuring longterm engagement and repeat business.

Develop strong customer relationship management processes to ensure client satisfaction and contract renewals.

Work closely with the Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless fulfillment of client orders.

Lead business intelligence efforts by gathering market insights competitor strategies and emerging industry trends.

Reporting Structure and Relationships

Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Works closely with the Head of Manufacturing to align production capacity with largescale orders and contract commitments.

Collaborates with the Head of Supply Chain & Logistics to ensure the availability and timely delivery of products to B2B clients.

Engages with the Finance team to structure competitive pricing contract terms and invoice financing strategies.

Works with the Marketing team to develop targeted B2B campaigns and industryfocused brand positioning.

Engages with regulatory bodies and industry associations to ensure compliance with procurement standards in the oil & gas and industrial sectors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10 years of B2B sales business development or commercial leadership experience preferably within the PPE safety footwear or industrial products sector.

Proven track record of securing and managing highvalue contracts with multinational oil & gas companies large manufacturing firms and industrial clients.

Extensive network within Nigeria’s oil & gas and manufacturing industries with direct access to key decisionmakers.

Demonstrated ability to close contracts worth at least N.00 within a defined timeframe.

Strong experience in managing a nationwide distributorship network for B2B sales.

Deep understanding of commercial contract negotiation strategic partnerships and key account management.

Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build mentor and lead a highperforming commercial team.

Exceptional communication negotiation and relationship management skills.

Strong knowledge of pricing strategies margin optimization and revenue growth tactics.

Understanding of regulatory compliance invoice financing and trade finance as it relates to B2B transactions.
