Aperu du poste

En tant que compositeur intermdiaire senior vous intgrerez des lments de synthse des dcors numriques (matte painting) et des squences daction relle pour crer des plans finaux homognes et de haute qualit. Vous serez rattach au chef du dpartement 2D et serez charg de crer les plans finaux sur nos projets suivant la direction crative du superviseur effets visuels. En troite collaboration avec le superviseur Composition (Compositing) et dautres dpartements vous veillerez ce que tous les visuels rpondent aux standards artistiques et techniques levs de FOLKS.

Principales responsabilits

• Composer des plans deffets visuels complexes pour le cinma la tlvision et/ou la publicit en veillant lintgration des lments de synthse et des squences daction relle.
• Maintenir un niveau lev de photoralisme de prcision des couleurs et de cohrence entre les squences.
• Dpanner et rsoudre les problmes cratifs et techniques afin dobtenir les meilleurs effets visuels possibles.
• Collaborer avec les quipes charges des images de synthse de lclairage et des dcors numriques afin damliorer la qualit des prises de vue.
• Appliquer des techniques de composition approfondies des projections 3D et des rendus multipassages si ncessaire.
• Fournir un mentorat et des conseils aux artistes juniors en les aidant affiner leurs comptences.
• Optimiser les flux de travail et contribuer au dveloppement doutils et de techniques de composition.
• Respecter les calendriers de production sans compromettre la qualit.
• Communiquer clairement et professionnellement avec les membres de lquipe les superviseurs et les clients en les informant des progrs accomplis en rpondant leurs proccupations et en contribuant crer un environnement de travail positif et collaboratif.

Role Overview

As a Mid  Senior Compositor you will integrate CG elements matte paintings and liveaction footage to create seamless highquality final shots. You will report to the Head of 2D and are responsible for creating the final deliverable shot work on our projects in accordance with the VFX supervisors creative direction. Working closely with the Compositing Supervisor and other departments youll ensure that all visuals meet FOLKS high artistic and technical standards.

In order to properly evaluate your application please provide:

• A resume with a focus on compositing.
• A demo reel showcasing VFX liveaction TV and/or commercials is required. Submissions without a demo reel will not be considered. If your reel is passwordprotected please provide the password for review.
• As this is a shortterm freelance contract you must be legally entitled to work for any studio in Canada and be based in Quebec preferably in the greater Montreal area. 
• Remote work is only available within Quebec. 

Key Responsibilities

• Composite complex VFX shots for feature films and television ensuring seamless integration of CG elements and liveaction footage.
• Maintain a high level of photorealism color accuracy and consistency across sequences.
• Troubleshoot and solve creative and technical challenges to achieve the best possible results.
• Collaborate with CG lighting and matte painting teams to enhance shot quality.
• Apply deep compositing techniques 3D projections and multipass rendering when needed.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior artists helping them refine their skills.
• Optimize workflows and contribute to the development of compositing tools and techniques.
• Adhere to production schedules and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members supervisors and clients providing updates on progress addressing concerns and contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications :

• Plus de 5 ans dexprience en tant que compositeur dans un studio deffets visuels reconnu
• Expertise avec Nuke et connaissances approfondies des techniques avances de composition.
• Solide comprhension de la thorie des couleurs de ltalonnage et des principes photographiques.
• Exprience en composition dimages numriques et projections 3D.
• Connaissance dautres logiciels tels que Maya Houdini et des logiciels standards dans lindustrie ainsi que des flux de proudction standards dans lindustrie.
• Solides comptences en matire de rsolution de problmes et capacit grer des plans complexes avec efficacit.
• Excellentes aptitudes la communication et capacit travailler dans un environnement dquipe au rythme soutenu.
• Atouts: connaissance de Python ou de scripts pour lautomatisation de composition et exprience en matire de composition stro.

• 5 years of experience as a compositor in a highend VFX studio.
• Expertise in Nuke and a deep understanding of its advanced compositing techniques.
• Strong understanding of color theory grading and photographic principles.
• Experience with multipass CG compositing deep compositing and 3D projections.
• Awareness of other discipline software such as Maya Houdini and industry standard tracking software along with industrystandard production pipelines.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to handle complex shots with efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fastpaced team environment.
• Knowledge of Python or scripting for compositing automation is a plus.
• Experience in stereo compositing is a bonus.
