Job Description

A vibrant and inclusive Mixed Comprehensive School in Hounslow is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our dynamic science department. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to explore the wonders of science develop their scientific skills and foster a lifelong appreciation for scientific inquiry.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 35 including GCSE and ALevel Biology Chemistry and Physics.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of scientific concepts experiments and investigations encouraging students to develop their scientific knowledge understanding and skills.
  • Facilitate studentled research projects experiments and presentations encouraging scientific inquiry analysis and communication skills.
  • Assess student progress through practical assessments written assignments and examinations providing detailed and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Science curriculum ensuring it aligns with current scientific research and best practices in science education.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as science clubs science fairs and participation in science competitions to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Science Biology Chemistry Physics or a related field.
  • Extensive experience teaching Science to GCSE and ALevel with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and scientific skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A passion for fostering a love of science and developing scientific inquiry skills in young people.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of scientific concepts experiments and investigations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
