Job Description
Vance Virtual Village Academy (V3A)seeks an innovative science teacher to facilitate instructionfor middle school (8th grade) and high school (9th-12th grade) science classes in the virtual learning setting. V3A is a Grades 6-12 virtual public school part of Vance County Schools (VCS) in Henderson NC.
- Virtual classes: taught daily by teachers through Zoom aligned to North Carolina Curriculum Standards
- Multiple Curriculum Resources:V3A teachers have access to a variety district and Edmentum curriculum resources shared through Canvas and with on-going curriculum Professional Development (PD) and Professional Learning Community (PLC) support
- Small class sizes: Average classes are 20 or fewer students
- Multiple planning periods: year-round core classes provide teachers with more flexibility in their school day for lesson planning grading and collaboration
- Student Interventions: Students receive academic support through online intervention Zoom sessions and/or through in-person student assistance at V3A campus
- Staff Support: On-site curriculum instruction technology and special education support
- In-person experiential learning:students participate in quarterly in-person hands-on learning opportunities at V3A the Center for Innovation or through educational field trips
