Job Description

Job Description:

The Steam Plant Manager is responsible for supervision of the team of stationary engineers at the steam plant including managing the operations and maintenance of boilers pumps and other mechanical equipment critical to the supply of steam and condensate return for buildings at an automotive engineering campus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of steam boilers including monitoring water levels fuel supplies and combustion air.
  • Ensure the efficient operations of other auxiliary steam boilers and hot water boilers across the campus.
  • Lead and manage a team of stationary engineers and technicians establish work schedules assign tasks and monitor performance.
  • Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance including startups and shutdowns of mechanical systems.
  • Oversee the operations and chemical management of the steam plant to ensure efficient and effective functioning.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and documentation standards maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Support the steam start up and shut down for the entire system.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Skills:

  • Knowledge of boilers pumps compressors electric motors and water treatment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (boilers cooling towers etc..

Preferred Skills:

  • Stationary Engineer License
  • Relevant certifications such as Universal CFC Refrigeration License etc.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining steam boilers and related equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Good problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
