Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor Health and Safety at Work and working closely with the companys managers the Health and Safety Advisor (HSA) is responsible for planning organizing coordinating and overseeing activities related to accident and occupational disease prevention for the assigned sites.

  • Acts as a change agent for developing a health and safety culture among all managers/employees for all assigned sites;
  • Advises and supports managers on their various health and safety cases;
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of various health and safety programs policies procedures and tools;
  • Conducts regular inspections of workplaces and work methods to ensure compliance with safety regulations;
  • Performs professional risk assessments and proposes preventive measures;
  • Leads investigations and analyzes workplace accidents alongside managers ensuring the implementation of necessary corrective and preventive actions;
  • Participates and collaborates with administrative bodies during inspections or investigations (CNESST fire services CIUSS etc.;
  • Responds to requests for information from employees and internal/external clients regarding health and safety at work;
  • Ensures that all mandatory health and safety training is completed for all employees and if necessary provides the required training;
  • Performs all other related duties in connection with their responsibilities.

Qualifications :

  • College diploma or university certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS);
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
  • Bilingualism required;
  • Hold a valid drivers license and be available to travel between various company sites.
