Who we are

Hi were Upgrow. We are a digital marketing agency focused on growth through Paid Media SEO and conversionfocused design and copywriting. We have a hybrid team in San Francisco and San Diego as well as a remote team throughout the US and internationally.

We focus mainly on B2B lead generation driving Marketing Qualified Leads and ultimately revenue for our clients to help their business bottom line. Our mission is to accelerate growth for remarkable brands we work with businesses focused on high growth and ready to blow things out of the water!

Life at Upgrow

We are a blend of remote and hybrid inoffice teams and our closeknit US and international teams are spread across multiple US time zones covering coast to coast. This means asynchronous communication is paramount in order to maximize productivity and efficiency.

We are a high performing team that values output and results vs input and micromanagement. This means we get sh*t done no bullsh*t no politics and no excuses.


We are highly collaborative and very organized where we communicate internally primarily on Slack/Zoom use project management tools like ClickUp and Confluence to ensure projects/tasks are planned out and delivered on time.

Every week we have companywide meetings to sync together and get company level updates (e.g. sales ops people) and have short 15minute daily team huddles to ensure everyone is aligned and not blocked.

For fun we run monthly virtual happy hours have inperson lunches (where possible) and have a dedicated Slack channel for nonwork chatter so you can share your favorite emojis or photos from your weekend or vacation!

What will you do

Our internship program is a 6month period where you will be exposed and have handson experience with realworld clients. The intention of our internship program is to get you battle ready and equipped to join us fulltime as a Paid Media Specialist after the internship. Note: we do not do summer internships

As a Paid Media Intern youll be supporting our Paid Media team with reporting research copywriting data analysis campaign management and get trained up with our elite team so you can level up your skills quickly.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelors Degree in Maths/Science/Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Great communication skills you are a highly effective communicator that is able to break down complex ideas into simple laymans terms and have the ability to pitch and be persuasive with your ideas to get buyin.
  • Highly organized & process driven youre able to use project management tools to break out that tasks need to be done by when and by who stay on top of multiple projects and ensure client delivery is met. Youre a selfstarter who needs minimal supervision/instruction who is proactive on getting things done.
  • Analytical and data driven you dont just make guesses as to why metrics go up or down but are comfortable diving deep and analyzing data in order to draw actionable insights and conclusions. You have strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables building charts vlookups)
  • Results driven you have a track record of achieving results and if youre not getting results you have an insatiable appetite to identify opportunities get client buyin and execute. You know how to identify where the opportunities are in order to move the needle and not be focused on just checking off a checklist (although those are important)
  • Passionate About Digital Marketing your YouTube history is filled with digital marketing content you are in the digital marketing forums you could talk for hours about this stuff its more than a job its what makes you great professionally.
Nice To Have:
  • Experience with Google Ads/LinkedIn Ads/Meta Ads (or equivalent)
  • Experience in B2B SaaS/Enterprise technology
  • Experience in other Paid Media channels (e.g. Reddit Ads Programmatic)
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Tag Manager (using regex datalayer javascript)
  • Web development skills (using HTML/CSS Javascript)
  • Experience with landing page optimization.
  • Experience at an agency or startup or as a consultant.

Our work hours are typically your standard 40/wk. Core working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm in your time zone (except EST which is 9am to 6pm). This means during work hours you are in a focused environment where you are dedicating your time and attention to Upgrow with a good internet connection and good work space.

This is a hybrid inoffice role in San Diego which requires you to be in the office 3 times per week. Our office is within walking distance from the UTC mall.

    • If youre looking for a simple 95 job to collect a paycheck then this isnt a place. We need people who are passionate about what they do and have strong ownership and accountability. This means sometimes youre working longer hours in order to get the job done and ensuring the work produced is to a high quality/standard.
  • Youre looking for chill slow and easy
    • Being in a small agency we pride ourselves in our ability to be nimble and move quickly for our clients. This sometimes means pivoting and executing quickly without having all the information in front of you. You need to have a sense of urgency and not take your sweet time because you cant handle the stress.
  • You play not to lose
    • Were looking for people who want to play to win vs. not to lose. This means youre looking for reasons and excuses on why you cant achieve your goals vs. figuring out what is needed in order for you to achieve your goals.
  • You want a freelance style work schedule
    • If your schedule requires high flexibility or you prefer working exclusively in the middle of the night then this probably isnt your gig. If you are backpacking across Europe with sometimes spotty wifi then youre also going to have a hard time.
  • You hate going into the office and seeing people
