Job Description

  • 50 Assist students in calculating cost of print jobs based on size and type of print; add funds to their BeakEm Bucks to pay for print jobs; answer nontechnical questions
  • 20 Manage paper toner ink in printers; alert staff to low stock conditions
  • 20 Maintain and clean computer labs as needed
  • 10 Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule
Up to 20 hours per week.

  1. During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1 have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2 be preenrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3 be enrolled in summer session or 4 be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).


  1. Basic knowledge of desktop software (Illustrator Photoshop InDesign etc.
  2. Basic knowledge of computer operating systems
  3. Able to work evenings/weekends
  4. Experience with printing scanning basic algebra
  5. Ability to work scheduled times reliably


Position Overview
Serves as a support person in the Print Lab in Chalmers Hall. Monitors and distributes student print jobs restocks supplies assists students cleans and maintains a professional work environment.

Per the State of Kansas student employees may hold concurrent appointments not to exceed
maximum appointment and hours worked levels. However concurrent student appointments must be of matching FLSA designation (exempt/salaried or nonexempt/hourly).
