ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a motivated Automation Design Engineer Intern to support the design and development of automation solutions for manufacturing processes. This internship provides handson experience in tooling fixture design and workstation optimization to enhance production efficiency. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers gaining practical knowledge in mechanical design CAD modeling and process improvement while contributing to realworld projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of tooling jigs and fixtures for manufacturing automation
- Support concept designs for component handling systems and workstation layouts
- Create 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar software
- Conduct basic tolerance studies GD&T analysis and simulations to verify design
- Support engineering projects from concept to implementation under the guidance of senior engineers
- Assist in project scheduling documentation and reporting
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure smooth of automation solutions
- Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of engineering components and materials
- Help analyze and troubleshoot tooling fixtures and automation equipment
- Participate in feasibility studies for new product transfers and process enhancements
- Contribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives and workspace optimization efforts
Qualifications :
REQUIRED:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineering or a related field
- Basic proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Strong interest in mechanical design automation and engineering analysis
- Basic understanding of GD&T simulations and tolerance studies (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Ability to work in a team environment and learn quickly
- The internship period must be at least 3 months starting in January 2026
PREFERRED:
- Basic knowledge of automation systems robotic handling or manufacturing processes
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or ISO standards is a plus
- Previous internship or project experience in automation or mechanical design (preferred but not required)
