The Director of Policy and Engagement will be responsible for the design planning and implementation of resultsoriented policy and engagement plans within the areas of responsibility defined in this job description which include: a) Permanence Financing Project b) Policy management and engagement by landscapes and issues within the framework of WWF Bolivias Strategic Plan c) Manage strategic alliances with entities in La Paz Bolivia d) International processes such as the Global Biodiversity Framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) e) Management of the Policy and Engagement Process including capacity building both within the WWF team and with strategic allies and other related activities as determined by its supervisor.
Qualifications :
- Education
- Professional University Degree in a related field such as: anthropology sociology environmental sciences social sciences political sciences etc. Masters degree preferred
- Courses and specialization in sustainable development issues public management sustainable development environmental diplomacy etc.
- Advanced English spoken and written level at least B2 CEFR (excluding).
- Experience
- Minimum eight years of experience working in governance and public policy related to biodiversity conservation natural resource management as well as an understanding of national and international conservation issues and the sustainable use of natural resources and water.
- Good understanding and analytical skills of environmental social political and economic problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish.
- Broad knowledge of the national context on issues relevant to the work of WWF Bolivia.
- Skills and Abilities
- Advanced English spoken and written level at least B2 CEFR (excluding).
- Capacity for dialogue and relations with government representatives international cooperation and NGOs. Ability to develop and implement plans for political relations negotiation and participation of diverse actors. Understanding of national and international environmental agendas
- Ability to operate independently under pressure to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork including the ability to develop rapport in a multicultural environment. Leadership and teamwork skills.
- Experience working on development and conservation projects including project design impact monitoring and fundraising.
- Excellent skills organization planning and systematization of information writing of reports and systematization of results and orientation to results. Innovation and creativity good management and knowledge of computers (Outlook Excel statistical packages Word Zoom Teams etc..
- Availability to travel domestically.
