Job Description

Job Title: Senior Data Analyst/Architect

Location: Washington DC

Position Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture:
    • Design implement and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines for complex data systems.
    • Lead the development and optimization of data models including relational dimensional and NoSQL models.
    • Establish data governance policies to ensure data integrity security and quality across the organization.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems with business applications.
    • Work with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and onpremise solutions to optimize data flow and storage.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Lead efforts in defining key metrics and KPIs to enable business decisionmaking.
    • Perform indepth data analysis build predictive models and provide actionable insights using tools like SQL Python R and advanced analytics platforms.
    • Develop and maintain custom dashboards reports and visualizations using tools such as Tableau Power BI or Looker.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Mentor and guide junior data analysts and architects.
    • Lead crossfunctional teams in complex data projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
    • Engage with senior leadership to provide strategic insights recommendations and forecasts.
  • Technology Strategy:
    • Stay uptodate with emerging data technologies and best practices.
    • Evaluate and recommend new tools frameworks and technologies for enhancing data operations.
    • Drive the evolution of the companys data strategy ensuring that it supports longterm business goals and growth.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage multiple data projects ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
    • Develop project plans resource allocations and risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • 15 years of experience in data analysis data architecture or a related field.
    • Proven experience leading complex data architecture projects and initiatives.
    • Expertise in building and optimizing ETL pipelines data models and analytics frameworks.
    • Experience with big data tools and technologies such as Hadoop Spark or Kafka.
    • Indepth experience with data warehousing and cloud data platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud).
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in SQL Python and R.
    • Handson experience with data visualization tools (Tableau Power BI etc..
    • Experience with advanced analytics techniques including machine learning and predictive modeling.
    • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. Oracle SQL Server MySQL MongoDB).
    • Experience with data governance frameworks and data security protocols.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership mentoring and team collaboration skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
    • Strong problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Statistics Mathematics or related field (Masters degree preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in data architecture data analytics or cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty Google Professional Data Engineer).
  • Experience working in specific industry e.g. finance healthcare retail.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and DevOps practices for data engineering.
