Job Title: Brand and marketing officer
Reports to: Business Development and Brand Manager
Based in: Kampala Uganda
Department: Business Development
Job purpose: To build market position by locating developing defining negotiating and closing business relationships.
Job Summary: The Brand and Marketing Officer is responsible for managing and developing a companys brand presence to attract and retain customers. This role involves creating marketing strategies implementing campaigns and ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels. They will drive customer engagement and enhance the brands visibility and reputation in the market.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Deliver the set Departmental Target on Business Growth and Profitability.
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Attend industry functions such as association events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors identify and develop the department s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Develop brand strategy including managing marketing campaigns and online platforms to ensure that products and services meet customers expectations and to build credibility of the brand.
- Create and manage promotional collateral to establish and maintain product branding.
- Manage and budget for advertising and promotional items.
- Organize events such as product launches and exhibitions.
- Plan execute and measure the success of marketing campaigns to promote products or services.
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling content for digital print and social media channels.
- Conduct research to understand target audience preferences trends and competitor activities.
- Translate insights into actionable marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Oversee social media strategy and engagement ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
- Work closely with sales product development and other departments to align marketing efforts with company goals.
- Maintain relationships with external partners such as advertising agencies and media outlets.
- Plan and execute brandrelated events sponsorships and activations to build awareness and engagement.
- Represent the brand at industry events trade shows and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Administration Communications or a related field
- 24 years of experience in brand management marketing or a similar role.
- Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns.
Skills knowledge and abilities
- Skill in customer service & support and training with demonstrated customer service orientation.
- Strong and well developed analytical and report writing skills.
- Quick learner with demonstrated product knowledge and professionalism.
- Excellence in problem solving skills.
