Job Description

3 yearsprevious experience in housekeeping 1 year experience in leadership role.
HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Leadership counseling and coaching skills are required.

The Environmental Services Supervisor executes company and facility Environmental Services programs and procedures by training supervising and motivating the Environmental Services personnel to ensure all tasks are completed schedules are met as well as ensuring adherence to all NSMC Policies and procedures.

Job Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conducts disciplinary action with the approval of the Director including warning preparation counseling coaching and issuance on a timely basis.
  • Continuously reviews councils and advises staff members in performance including attendance work quality and takes corrective actions as needed.
  • Conducts applicant interview process and approval of new hires.
  • Evaluates employee performance annually in a timely manner documenting recommendations for improvement and or areas that exceed standard.
  • Conducts training sessions with Environmental Services personnel regularly as assigned.
  • Monitors and inspect all Environmental Services equipment regularly to ensure it is maintained in a clean condition and in good repair. Recommends equipment as needed.
  • Consistently completes appropriate forms record keeping including but not limited to: Room Inspections Satisfaction Surveys Individual Training Records and Manifest record keeping.
  • Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director as needed.
  • Evaluates staff fitness for duty use of proper uniform and picture IDs for all staff.
  • Consistently makes rounds throughout the hospital to observe quality standards of work and safety practices Infection Control practices and body mechanics.
  • Participates in setting priorities and planning of all project work Floor Care/Carpet Care.
  • Reports all repair issues to maintenance in a timely manner and follows up to completion.
  • Conducts inventories and orders cleaning supplies paper and plastic within the budget.
  • Trains proper procedures concerning hazardous waste disposal packing and handling.
  • Oversees the following as needed during functions: setting up of furniture distribution and setup of audiovisual equipment and general cleaning before and after functions.
  • Commitment to quality customer service demonstrates team work positive attitude respect privacy and confidentiality. Over all Service Excellence.
  • Treats customers (including patients physicians employees and visitors) with courtesy and compassion and responds to requests in a timely manner.
  • Oversees linen collection and distribution to assure needs are met in all areas.
  • May oversee Bed Management System
