Job summary This position is responsible for coordinating the Associations accounting functions which include preparing financial statements and management reports maintaining the general ledger supporting the audit process and coordinating the budget.
How you will make a difference
Assisting in developing the annual budget and forecasts.
Supervising the maintenance of accounting records and ensures compliance with GAAP and OMA policies. Reviews and approves the posting of all transaction details to the general ledger including reconciliation of subledgers and general ledger accounts.
Assisting in preparing and reviewing the monthly and yearend financial statements and management reports including notes and supporting schedules. Assists in preparing the agenda and documents for the Finance and Audit Committee.
Supporting the yearend audit process with external auditors ensuring compliance with internal control and accounting standards.
Supporting the internal audit function through coordination and proactive involvement to ensure the audit meets the organizational goals and risk management strategies.
Requirements that are important to us
Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration Accounting Finance or equivalent.
Minimum of ten years of accounting experience financial reporting and analysis budgeting and forecasting
Strong analytical skills attention to detail and deep understanding of accounting principles and practices
Professional Accounting Designation; CPA required
The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
