About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons to Key Stage 4 students focusing on developing proficiency in programming algorithms and data structures.
- Plan and deliver lessons that integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications incorporating projectbased learning coding challenges and collaborative projects.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods including coding portfolios presentations and written assessments providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies within the Computer Science department staying abreast of emerging technologies and educational trends.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as coding clubs hackathons and robotics competitions promoting student engagement and fostering a passion for computer science.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate computational thinking and digital literacy into the wider curriculum.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience teaching Computer Science to Key Stage 4 students with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students in coding and problemsolving.
- Proficiency in a range of programming languages (e.g. Python Java JavaScript) and coding platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for engaging young minds in the world of computer science.
- A strong commitment to promoting digital literacy and empowering students to become creators and innovators in the digital age.
