The Pharmacy Director is responsible for compliance with all regulations (DEA FDA DoD DoS and Army) governing medication procurement storage distribution and use. The Pharmacy Director is also responsible for communicating and advising prescribing clinicians of treatment modalities and assist in developing practical and effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assesses evaluates and manages medication therapies for patients across the age spectrum for various medical problems for outpatient and emergency patients.
- Maintains healthcare formulary formulary stock prescription records and is financially responsible for all legend and controlled medications.
- Maintains unsupervised key access to the Department of Pharmacy and all stocked medications and is the immediate supervisor for all personnel with job access to the pharmacy.
- Sits as Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and may sit on other healthcare policy and administrative committees as determined by DCMO or Program Manager.
- Reviews and updates departmental directives and supervising policies for medication procurement storage distribution and use within CARE Doha GMC to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversees and responds to monthly audit of medications per PWS requirements.
- Maintains regulatory required records for procurement storage distribution and use of all legend and controlled medications within CARE Doha GMC.
- Inspects medication stock and medication use outside of the Department of Pharmacy per departmental directives.
- Assists all practitioners with medication information and pharmacotherapeutic guidance
- Reports all instances of regulatory noncompliance to the DCMO.
- Oversees medication ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels while not exceeding budget limits.
- Oversees expired medication returns to Medical Logistics and ensures proper handling of controlled substances. Performs medication reconciliation upon entry and discharge from the acute care setting.
- Performs other duties as required in accordance with privileges granted by the CARE Doha GMC Credentials Committee.
- Assumes other responsibilities and duties as assigned by DCMO.
- Participates actively with quality assurance and process improvement as required.
- Provides active participation on multidisciplinary hospital committees as assigned.
- Doctorate degree practitioners may be credentialed for independent prescriptive authority in accordance with regulations in their state or country of licensure.
- Participates with administrative projects as delegated or as approved by GMC leadership.

- Shall have and maintain a current license and registration to practice as pharmacist in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico Guam U.S. Virgin Islands or Country of Record that allows for the independent practice of clinical services.
- DEA License or Equivalent.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm).
- Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- This position may be accompanied.
- Ability to obtain a base security clearance.
- Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
- A valid passport is required from Country of Record and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Qatar.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
