Job Summary
The Project Coordinator Electrical will be responsible for coordinating electrical projects ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards and managing timelines budgets and resources. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering principles project coordination site management and communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD ETAP SKM.
- Ensure compliance with NEC IEC and other electrical codes and standards.
- Select and size cables for different electrical applications.
- Oversee the installation of electrical panels including wiring circuit breakers and grounding.
- Monitor electrical distribution systems (transformers switchgear busbars).
- Plan and manage project schedules and timelines.
- Ensure seamless coordination between design procurement and site teams.
- Work with contractors suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely project deliverables.
- Manage project logistics material procurement and scheduling of resources.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure site safety compliance as per industry regulations.
- Coordinate with site engineers and contractors to resolve technical or siterelated challenges.
- Supervise electrical testing & commissioning activities.
- Perform circuit testing insulation resistance testing and earth fault loop impedance testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure proper functionality.
- Use multimeters oscilloscopes and megohmmeters for electrical measurements.
- Maintain accurate project records reports and documentation.
- Prepare progress reports testing reports and quality checklists.
- Coordinate meetings site visits and project review sessions.
- Liaise with clients consultants contractors and suppliers.
- Provide regular updates on project milestones and potential risks.
- Work with the team to develop risk mitigation and recovery plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong electrical engineering principles knowledge (circuits electromagnetism).
- Familiarity with electrical safety procedures (lockout/tagout arc flash PPE).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD ETAP or similar design software.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Ability to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of budgeting material procurement and resource allocation.
- Experience in identifying and resolving electrical faults.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle projectrelated challenges effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
- Strong documentation skills for preparing technical reports and compliance records.
Education
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.
