Job Description

We are looking for a 

Manager Social sustainability

In this role you will further develop YITs social sustainability and implement Grouplevel targets and processes with a special focus on due diligence and human rights. You will work  as a part of the Group ESG team and closely with procurement constructing segments and enabling functions to develop our social sustainability measures in line with international frameworks stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for the development and of YITs human rights due diligence process and reporting and will support the rest of the ESG team and group function in questions pertaining to Social Sustainability issues. 

As Manager Social sustainability at YIT you will play a critical role in promoting and ensuring the companys commitment to social responsibility within the construction and infrastructure sector. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities aimed at fostering positive social impact and ethical practices throughout our projects.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing processes: Grouplevel instructions and tools for social sustainability and human rights due diligence.
  • Human rights compliance and audits: Ensure the company complies with international human rights standards and guidelines developing and implementing policies and procedures to prevent and address potential violations.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on social sustainability regulations standards and best practices and ensure the company adheres to all relevant legal requirements.
  • Providing highlevel advice in own responsibility area and support to businesses and other internal stakeholders.
  • Following the development of EU and national regulation soft law frameworks and initiatives relevant to the responsibility area to further develop the Groups approach on social sustainability.


You will work together with the Group ESG team on:

  • Social sustainability data gathering and internal and external reporting in own responsibility area.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion within the company advocating for equal opportunities and supporting initiatives to create a welcoming and inclusive work environment for employees.

What we expect from you: 

  • A MSc degree in social sciences or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in social sustainability or related roles preferably in the construction and infrastructure industry.
  • Deep understanding of social sustainability business and human rights and due diligence processes or supply chain management.
  • Development and businessoriented mindset with good engagement skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in writing and speaking Finnish and English.
