As a Senior Accountant you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of our Japan operations ensuring accurate and timely financial and management reporting as well as regulatory compliance.
The key areas of responsibility:
Profit & Loss and MonthEnd Closing
- Ensure monthend closing activities are completed accurately and in compliance with Group timelines and processes.
- Conduct analytical reviews and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to support financial decisionmaking.
- Support monthly forecasting and budget monitoring to enhance financial planning.
- Ensure all costs and expenses are properly recorded categorized and processed.
- Compile and review GL entries ensure proper transaction coding and adequate supporting documentation.
- Manage intercompany transactions ensure timely reconciliations and compliance with Group policies.
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Balance Sheet
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Reconcile accounts payable schedules with customer and supplier records.
- Reconcile VAT/consumption tax and withholding tax accounts.
- Ensure financial records align with Group policies and procedures.
- Maintain lease schedules ensure accurate accounting for rightofuse assets and lease liabilities in compliance with IFRS 16.
Tax and Regulatory Compliance
- Assist the Finance Manager/Director in the preparation and submission of tax returns and regulatory filings.
- Liaise with external tax consultants to ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
Accounts Payable (AP) Management
- Coordinate with the AP shared services center to ensure efficient processing of payments
- Assist in AP and PO processing managing transactions that cannot be fully supported by the shared services center.
Audit
- Liaise with external auditors support audit .
- Prepare and provide auditrequired documents in a timely and accurate manner.
Change Management
- Support change management initiatives ensure smooth adoption of new financial processes.
- Provide adhoc analysis and support process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Accounting or Finance or 5 years of experience as an Accountant Financial Controller or Auditor.
- CPA ACCA JICPA or an equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
- Experience with major accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
- Experience in the IT software and/or B2B industries is a plus
