Join our remote team as a Data Governance SME in support of a federal customer where you can share inventive ways to help federal clients modernize their data practices. You will be key in developing and implementing data governance strategies policies and processes.
Salary Range: $135000 $140000 (depending on experience)
Position Duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework including policies standards and procedures.
- Define data ownership stewardship and accountability within the organization.
- Assess the relationship and overlap of new data governance controls.
- Identify key stakeholder groups for each phase of the data life cycle.
- Support the development and maintenance of data catalogs.
- Establish data quality standards and monitor adherence to these standards.
- Perform research to ensure data governance practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Develop Impact Assessment Reports on new and updated legislation and regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to teams on data governance best practices and propose policy ownership.
- Draft outreach and training materials around data governance.
- Collaborate with the business to ensure alignment of data governance with overall business goals.
Qualifications :
Required Skillset:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in data governance and data management.
- Indepth knowledge of data governance frameworks data management principles and regulatory requirements.
- Experience assessing the impacts of legislation and regulatory requirement changes.
- Experience with data quality tools and processes.
- Strong understanding of data classification encryption and data protection methods.
- Excellent communication both written and oral and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
Desired Skillset:
- Experience working with the Federal Government.Familiarity with cloudbased data platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud).
- Experience working with Agile Teams utilizing Scrum.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other technical field of study
Clearance Requirement:
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship Required
