Job Description

Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking an Imaging Tech Assistant for Olentangy Radiology located in Columbus OH. The Imaging Tech Assistant is responsible for assisting Imaging Technologists. This position collaborates with the Imaging Services Team and other departments to ensure quality patient care. The Imaging Tech Assistant acts a resource to the technologists and patients during their procedure. This position works with Physicians to communicate and share results. This is a fulltime position working Monday Friday 8:30a5p.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist technologists with multiple duties under their direct supervision.
  • Assist patients to appropriate modality areas.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Process routine paperwork.
  • Communicate with patients to give preparations and facility information as needed.
  • Work with the Precertification Department in obtaining/changing authorizations for exams.
  • Communicate with Radiologists Physicians and COPC practice.
  • Support monitoring exam schedules and retrieving appropriate information for technologists.
  • Maintain examination rooms stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Attend required staff and educational meetings.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

A. Education Licensures & Certifications

  • Required: High School Graduate

B. Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including radiation safety equipment safety body mechanics and patient movement
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient medical staff and the public
  • Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices
  • Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building skills
