Wednesday Thursday Friday 10p - 7a Saturday 9p-7a. Call Requirement: YES. Call is 3 days every 4 weeks. The Call requirement is to arrive within 30 minutes. Float Requirement: YES. Float is between the ER scanner and the main department scanner. SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: 1. Receives relays and documents verbal written and electronic orders. 2. Prepares patient for procedure and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures. 3. Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy pathology physiology and medical terminology. 4. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient s age condition and abilities. 5. Follows protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety. 6. Identifies prepares and administers medications including contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. 7. Performs venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. 8. Evaluates images for quality and ensures proper recording of accurate patient identification and anatomical laterality. 9. Ensures complete examination is performed following protocol. 10. Ensures timely review and transfer of images and pertinent clinical information to a licensed practitioner. 11. Properly operates electronic medical record (EMR) radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS). 12. Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient self and others. 13. Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws. 14. Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices. 15. Administers medication with an infusion pump or power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. 16. Maintains high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. 17. Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs. 18. Assists a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures. 19. Performs computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
