About the Job

As a Quality Control Technician you will work closely with production operations teams quality control teams and construction teams to ensure product quality. You will be successful in this role if you are attentive to detail disciplined with time management and enjoy providing valuable information.

Based out of our Niagara Falls location.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Complete QC sampling and testing of asphalt and aggregate materials with attention to detail
  • Laboratory and onsite testing of hot mix including sampling extraction and sieve analysis mix design coring using standard coring equipment and compaction using Nuclear Densometer
  • Laboratory and onsite testing of aggregates including sampling sieve analysis and physical properties
  • Effectively communicating with field staff and production personnel to receive and provide valuable information
  • Collect detailed sample information including locations site activities for materials sampled and tested and keep a daily journal/log
  • Produce various summaries and reports for supervisors customers and managers to highlight product quality and control

Heres What You Need

  • Postsecondary education with experience in construction materials (aggregate/asphalt)
  • Postsecondary Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent would be an asset
  • Must have a valid G license in good standing
  • Experience in the construction materials industry would be ideal
  • Able to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication both orally and written

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Indoor and Outdoor environment in various weather conditions
  • Flexible hours may be required on occasion to meet demands which will include overtime and possible evening night and weekend work.
  • Able to perform a variety of tasks including moderate to heavy lifting bending reaching and carrying.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Daily exposure to laboratory quarry and paving environments
  • Various PPE will include safety boots reflective clothing safety glasses gloves and hard hat additional PPE may be required depending upon tasks
