Boys Hope Girls Hope is a nonprofit organization with affiliates in cities across the United States and Latin America serving more than 1200 young people in Residential and Academy settings. Their mission is to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become collegeeducated careerready men and women for others. They help motivated and hardworking young people in need to break barriers and achieve goals that will change their lives forever.
Position Overview:
The Residential Counselor supports the Mission and Values of Boys Hope Girls Hope. The Residential Counselor is responsible for directing the operations of the home to create a family atmosphere that supports the development of the full child. The Residential Counselor is part of a team of professionals and volunteers. They perform their duties relatively free from direct supervision acting at all times in a professional manner.
The position requires the ability to perform household tasks like shopping cooking cleaning and minor property care that may require bending lifting and carrying. The position requires the ability to closely monitor the whereabouts and activities of several preadolescent and adolescent children in a multistory home as well as the ability to safely transport children in program vehicles. It may also require engaging in athletic recreational and/or camping activities with the scholars.
The position requires obtaining CPR first aid and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification and annual participation in continuing education satisfied through inhouse programs offered by Boys Hope Girls Hope or thirdparty providers.

This is a fulltime onsite position with an hourly compensation of $20 per hour for livein employees and $18 per hour for liveout employees.
