MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a private liberal arts university with a variety of undergraduate graduate and adult education programs accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Position Description:
The tutoring coordinator for the academic success center is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the tutoring program and services at MNU including needs assessment recruitment hiring and training of tutors and maintaining daytoday operations. This role serves the entire campus and requires that the person be comfortable interacting with fulltime and parttime faculty campus staff and both traditional and adult students. As the center serves all students the coordinator will need to be regularly evaluating usage and student needs and seeking innovative solutions to close the gap. This position will also serve the Academic Success Center by fulfilling daily operations logistics in the area of purchasing and communication needs and helping to fulfill reception needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tutoring Center:
- Recruit and hire tutors for academic areas of need
- Onboard and train tutors using bestpractices for tutoring
- Maintain tutoring centers schedule of tutoring activities including walkin and appointment only tutoring hours
- Manage tutor schedules shifts and timecards
- Manage paper submission for tutor review
- Maintain and update tutor promotional materials and schedule across multiple platforms
- Monitor tutoring modalities and find innovative ways to serve student tutoring needs
- Perform regular evaluations of tutors to ensure quality
- Regularly assess the tutoring needs and desires of all student populations to determine sufficiency of tutoring center services and modalities
Operations Logistics:
- Welcome and direct students visitors and constituents to appropriate services and resources
- Regularly maintain and update website and social media for academic success center programming and services
- Prepare and distribute campuswide emails about services and events of the Academic Success Center
- Prepare and track all purchasing for the academic success center
- Manage student compassion fund requests
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience in education and instruction preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing employees and schedules
- Literacy with various computer applications and ability to learn new systems
