Job Description
Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Surgery Aide to join our surgical materials team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
Assists operating room personnel to provide an environment that is clean and safe for patient care. Responsible for knowing supply inventory in Case Cart and OR Core areas. Stocks surgery department with sterile and nonsterile supplies. Works to supply the OR with supplies and equipment needed for cases. Maintains a collaborative serviceoriented relationship with OR Materials staff OR staff and surgeons.
Work Schedule:
- 0.6 FTE
- Rotating Days/Evenings/Nights
Required Qualifications:
- 6 months of patient care experience required
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of sterile processing and materials handling
- Demonstrates knowledge of agerelated growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Graduate preferred
- Surgical materials handling preferred
