POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager ensures optimum patient outcomes related to medication use by preventing or resolving drugrelated issues and optimizing the drug therapy of patients. Provides drug information to patients and families physicians nurses and other healthcare professional. Integrally involved in education of pharmacists residents and students. Serves as a resource and drug expert in one of the seven specialty areas. Strives to increase knowledge through research and writing activities. The Clinical Specialist may also be involved as necessary in coordinating the acquisition distribution and control of drug therapy for patients under the care of the pharmacist.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Work requires at a minimum a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and at least five years of pertinent work experience or a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and postgraduate training with at least three years of pertinent work experience or a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy with postgraduate training or at least two years of pertinent work experience.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Work requires licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Massachusetts by the hire date. Work requires substantial interpersonal skills towards our customers (particularly patients physicians and nurses) and fellow employees of the hospital.
