We are looking for a strategic creative and datadriven Social Media Manager to lead and grow Second Harvests social presence. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that increases brand awareness expands our reach through organic and paid content drives engagement and grows our audience across platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a deep understanding of digital trends audience development and content creation. They will also have expertise in Meta Business Suite including setting up managing and optimizing alwayson ad campaigns to ensure sustained visibility and impact.

The Role:

The Social Media Manager is a key role in expanding our reach and visibility with both business audiences (B2B) including food businesses donors and industry stakeholders and the general public (B2C) to educate Canadians about the impact of food waste through national storytelling.

Your Impact:

  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan that enhances Second Harvests visibility engagement and impact.
  • Manage and execute daytoday social media content creation scheduling posting and optimization across all organic and paid channels.
  • Create compelling content (which could include copy graphics photography and video assets) to support key campaigns initiatives and partnerships.
  • Engage and grow the brands online community through active social listening timely responses and audience interaction.
  • Lead proactive community management including social listening responding to comments and DMs and fostering audience engagement across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate and amplify content across all digital platforms.
  • Monitor analyze and report on social media performance providing insights and recommendations to optimize engagement and reach.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends and identify new opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Support additional digital marketing initiatives as needed.

Who You Are:

  • A Social Media Expert: You have extensive experience managing social media strategy content and community engagement for a recognized brand.
  • A Meta Business Suite Expert: You have handson experience setting up and optimizing paid campaigns including audience targeting ad formats and performance tracking with a focus on alwayson campaigns that ensure sustained visibility and impact.
  • Digitally Savvy: You stay on top of social media trends platform updates and best practices.
  • A Strategic Thinker: You can develop and execute a datadriven social media strategy that aligns with organizational goals.
  • A Skilled Content Creator: You can craft engaging copy capture compelling visuals and produce highquality videos.
  • An Analytical Marketer: You know how to track and interpret key performance metrics to refine and optimize content.
  • DetailOriented and Organized: You manage multiple projects with ease and take pride in delivering highquality work.
  • A Collaborative Team Player: You enjoy working crossfunctionally and with external partners to maximize impact.
  • Proficient in digital tools including Canva video editing software social media scheduling/analytics tools and CMS platforms.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
