Job Description
Why Account Authentication and Security
The Roblox Account Authentication and Security team provides the front door for the metaverse. Across mobile web console and all locales we are responsible for onboarding Roblox players creators and securing their sessions. When we do our job well Roblox users will have a seamless and secure experience on Roblox.
What makes Roblox unique is that our users tend to skew young and are therefore both impatient and vulnerable. This role is for someone who wants to be a technical leader in making account authentication and security child proof.
This is an excellent opportunity for a product engineer with expertise working on complex thick clients solving user authentication or account security problems to have a large scale impact. The team is product oriented and entrepreneurial with 80 of our roadmap being sourced from within the team.
As a Software Engineer on Robloxs Account Authentication team you will work with teammates in the design implementation and landing of features and fixes that allow people of all ages and geographies to securely join the metaverse.
You Will:
- Build critical features to ensure that user authentication is seamless secure and reliable.
- Learn new skills and work on exciting challenges. We are using ML and Cryptography to make account authentication better.
- Work cross organizationally. We collaborate with teams and roles throughout Roblox and get a big picture view of how Roblox works.at cover the role responsibilities)
You Have:
- 4 years of experience in software development
- 4 years of experience building and shipping user facing products to production in any domain such as backend frontend or ML
- 4 years of experience working on multiperson codebases including opensource or personal projects
- 2 years experience building customerfacing user experiences
You Are:
- Experienced: have designed and built backend systems depended on by other users/teams
- DataLiterate: Schema design telemetry batch and streaming frameworks at scale. You understand the challenges of keeping data both intuitive to use and trustworthy.
- Responsible: You build systems that are robust and use production incidents to learn and improve.
- User Oriented: You always start with the needs of the user whether they are Roblox users or internal engineers before architecting a solution.
