Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Research and Documentation Specialist with 5 to 10 years of experience in conducting indepth research compiling reports and managing documentation for largescale water infrastructure projects particularly those funded by the World Bank. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering analyzing and synthesizing critical information to support project planning regulatory compliance and reporting requirements. This role requires strong technical writing skills data analysis capabilities and knowledge of donorfunded project documentation standards. Frequent travel across Nigeria may be required for data collection and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

Research & Data Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on water infrastructure projects regulatory frameworks and funding mechanisms with a focus on World Bank projects.

  • Analyze project data technical reports and market trends to support decisionmaking.

  • Collect and synthesize information on industry best practices new technologies and policy updates relevant to water resource management.

  • Use GIS IoT and smart water management technologies as an added advantage in research and reporting.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation including feasibility studies technical reports and compliance documents.

  • Ensure compliance with World Bank reporting standards Nigerian regulatory frameworks and international best practices.

  • Prepare progress reports environmental impact compliance reports and project audit documentation.

  • Work closely with engineers project managers and auditors to ensure accurate and timely documentation of project milestones.

Regulatory & Compliance Support:

  • Ensure project documentation aligns with environmental social and governance (ESG) standards as required by the World Bank and Nigerian regulatory agencies.

  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of public procurement laws infrastructure policies and compliance requirements.

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams in tracking project progress and identifying risks.

Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Management:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by compiling lessons learned case studies and best practices from past projects.

  • Develop training materials presentations and technical briefs for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise with government agencies donor organizations and industry experts to gather relevant insights.



Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Engineering Environmental Science Public Policy Social Sciences or a related field.

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in research documentation or knowledge management preferably in World Bankfunded water projects.

  • Experience in infrastructure water resources management or donorfunded development projects is an advantage.

Technical & Industry Knowledge:

  • Strong expertise in research methodologies data collection and report writing.

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping IoT applications in water management and smart infrastructure technologies is an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with World Bank documentation standards compliance reporting and impact assessments.

  • Experience in using data visualization tools document management systems and research databases.

Professional Certifications & Compliance:

  • Certification in Project Management Research or Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) is a plus.

  • Membership in relevant professional bodies related to research documentation or water management is an advantage.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.

  • Excellent technical writing and document management abilities.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple research projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel across Nigeria for data collection research and stakeholder engagement.
