Position Summary:
This position will be a part of the Transported by Maersk Logistics and Services team. We are seeking an agile service driven leader capable of understanding business requirements and delivering results through a large operationally focused team. The professional will be accountable for the overall operational and cost leadership of all Carrier Haulage shipments within their assigned scope. In addition this role has the responsibility of managing overall west coast functions including responsibilities within liner operations. A successful candidate will be able to quickly build and leverage a diverse network of internal/external stakeholders to exceed customer expectations and drive value for our team and organization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the Pacific Southwest region reporting to the Head of Landside DeliveryUSA
- Day to day Management of a large group of ILWU union clerical staff in both Northern and Southern California locations.
- Lead efforts related to union relations including collective bargaining and compliance with labor agreements in conjunction with labor relations leaders.
- Work through grievances and arbitrations as needed to support the organizational strategy.
- Ensure all change initiatives are vetted against union contractual agreements and implemented through contractual process.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory/contractual requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and develop management team through coaching goal setting periodic feedback and reviews to develop a culture of accountability teamwork and high performance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to drive performance and ensure alignment to goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze Key Performance metrics to make data driven decisions to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive collaboration between crossfunctional teams.
- Lead and contribute towards the operating system to build a highperformance culture scalable for future growth.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors customers and staff to drive collaboration and achieve mutual goals.
- Drives cost reductions within the function.
- Challenge drive and improve global standards.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other jobrelated duties as necessary to support the objectives of the Transported by Maersk Logistics and Services department as required.
Job Specifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree required.
- Five or more years transportation experience required preferably in operational logistics.
- Five of more years experience in a leadership role.
- Union management experience with strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Proven leadership skills and ability to create followership.

- Strong mindset
- Strong understanding of transportation industry and in particular internal shipment cost drivers
- Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills

Pay Range:
$170000 $215000
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
