Position Purpose and Objectives
The Secondary Market Specialist is responsible for managing the sale and delivery of mortgage loans in the secondary market. This role involves ensuring that all mortgage loans are processed sold and serviced in compliance with investor guidelines and regulatory requirements. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize loan sale strategies enhance profitability and manage investor relations. A strong understanding of mortgage loan products market trends and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this position. This role requires a detailoriented professional with strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of loan servicing practices mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) transactions wholesale and correspondent lending.

Specific knowledge skills and abilities required for this position:
Working knowledge of all Texas real estate loan products and services; excellent member service skills; exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills; extensive knowledge in the areas of TruthinLending Equal Credit Opportunity Act Fair Credit Reporting Act DoddFrank TRID and Texas State Home Equity Laws as well as a supporting knowledge in market trends in Real Estate lending. Ability to independently complete and review FNMA & FHLMC investor reporting and associated processes. Indepth understanding of mortgage loan products secondary market operations investor guidelines and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with mortgage loan origination systems product and pricing engine and secondary market software. Strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and internal stakeholders.
Education: Bachelors degree in finance business administration or a related field preferred or equivalent experience in mortgage lending or secondary market operations.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of working experience in mortgage lending with a focus on secondary market activities loan sales or investor relations. Experience in a credit union or similar financial institution is preferred.
