Job Description

SENCO HighAchieving Secondary School Reading ASAP Start

Location: Reading
Contract: FullTime Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join a highachieving secondary school in Reading. This is a fantastic leadership role for a passionate individual who is committed to ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Your Role as SENCO:

  • Lead the schools SEND strategy and oversee all SEND provision
  • Work closely with students staff and parents to develop individual support plans
  • Ensure compliance with SEND policies and statutory requirements
  • Provide professional guidance and training for teachers and support staff
  • Manage and coordinate a team of SEN professionals including teaching assistants and learning mentors
  • Liaise with external agencies including Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists
  • Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to support learning and development

Who Were Looking For:

  • A qualified SENCO (or a teacher currently working towards the SENCO qualification)
  • A deep understanding of SEND policies legislation and best practices
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a team
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to inclusive education
