The Role
The role of the IB Visual Arts Teacher in the Secondary School is essential to delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) the Careerrelated Programme (CP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).
This role requires a passionate educator committed to inspiring students in the field of Visual Arts with a deep understanding of the IB philosophy and the ability to connect with secondary learners at a critical stage in their development. Prior experience teaching in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Diploma Programme (DP) and/or Careerrelated Programme (CP) is highly beneficial with a strong emphasis on understanding the Visual Arts guide assessment criteria and the creative cycle inherent in the IB framework.
The teacher is responsible for inspiring creativity inquiry and critical thinking in students while fostering a deep appreciation for visual arts within a global context. The IB Visual Arts Teacher collaborates with colleagues to plan and implement the curriculum cocurricular programs and CAS (Creativity Activity Service) initiatives contributing to the holistic development of students. As a contemporary educator the IB Visual Arts Teacher must demonstrate ongoing growth in the following key capacities with professional development at AISPP anchored in these capacities:
