Job Description
Position: WordPress/Linux Developer
Location: Specify: Remote Hybrid or Onsite City
Employment Type: Fulltime Contract or Parttime
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a skilled WordPress/Linux Developer to manage develop and optimize WordPressbased websites and ensure efficient server performance in a Linux environment. This role requires expertise in WordPress development PHP MySQL and Linux server administration. The ideal candidate will have experience with custom theme and plugin development performance optimization and troubleshooting technical issues related to hosting and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop customize and maintain WordPress websites themes and plugins.
- Optimize website performance security and scalability in a Linux server environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve WordPressrelated issues including database and hosting concerns.
- Configure and manage Apache/Nginx MySQL and other Linuxbased services.
- Implement and manage serverside caching backups and security measures.
- Ensure WordPress websites are up to date with the latest versions and patches.
- Integrate APIs and thirdparty tools for enhanced functionality.
- Monitor and optimize website speed uptime and server resource usage.
- Automate deployment and maintenance tasks using shell scripting or DevOps tools.
- Work closely with designers content creators and other developers to deliver highquality solutions.
Qualifications:
- years of experience in WordPress development and Linux server administration.
- Strong knowledge of PHP MySQL JavaScript HTML and CSS.
- Experience with WordPress custom theme and plugin development.
- Proficiency in managing Linuxbased servers (Ubuntu CentOS Debian etc..
- Familiarity with Apache Nginx and MySQL/MariaDB optimization.
- Understanding of website performance optimization techniques (CDN caching compression).
- Knowledge of security best practices for WordPress and Linux servers.
- Experience with Git version control and deployment workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for server and WordPressrelated issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Docker Kubernetes or cloudbased hosting (AWS DigitalOcean etc..
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible Bash scripting or CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience with headless WordPress or REST API integrations.
- Background in eCommerce platforms (WooCommerce Shopify Magento).
