Job Description

Lead Our Team and Drive Excellence in the Commercial Vehicle Industry

Bunbury Trucks Sales & Service has been a trusted name in the Southwest for over 25 years earning a reputation as The Japanese Truck Specialists. We specialise in the sales and servicing of a variety of brands including Fuso and Hino trucks offering a full range of solutions including 24/7 breakdown assistance onsite fleet maintenance and a comprehensive genuine parts supply.

As we continue to grow we are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our dealership drive business performance and enhance our market presence.

About the Role

As the General Manager you will have full accountability for the dealerships sales function ensuring strong revenue growth and customer acquisition.

You are directly responsible for sales performance and overall business outcomes working closely with the sales team to drive success.

Additionally you will have a direct report managing parts and service operations ensuring that the dealership maintains high standards of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Your focus will be on driving profitability optimising operational efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction while fostering a highperformance culture within the organisation.

You will work closely with department heads and external stakeholders including manufacturers suppliers and key clients to strengthen Bunbury Trucks Sales & Services standing as a market leader in the commercial vehicle sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute a business strategy that aligns with company goals and drives revenue growth.
  • Monitor and manage the dealerships financial performance including budgeting forecasting and cost control.
  • Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities such as fleet sales service contracts and parts distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and manufacturer requirements.

Sales & Customer Relations

  • Oversee new and used truck sales ensuring targets are met and profitability is maintained.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers fleet operators and industry stakeholders.
  • Analyse market trends and develop competitive strategies to maintain a strong market position.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement effective promotional campaigns and brandbuilding initiatives.

Operations & Service Excellence

  • Ensure efficient operations across all departments including our 24/7 breakdown service and onsite fleet maintenance.
  • Optimise inventory management for parts and vehicle stock to ensure availability while minimising costs.
  • Drive a customercentric culture implementing service excellence initiatives and ensuring customer satisfaction KPIs are met.
  • Monitor key operational metrics including turnaround times service efficiency and warranty claim management.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead mentor and develop a highperforming team across all dealership departments.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Implement training and development programs to upskill staff and enhance performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to drive employee engagement and retention.

About You

Industry Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a General Manager Dealer Principal or Senior Manager in a truck or automotive dealership.
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicle sales service operations and parts distribution.
  • Experience working with OEMs manufacturers and key industry stakeholders.

Leadership & Business Acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting P&L management and cost control.
  • A track record of driving sales growth increasing profitability and optimising dealership performance.

CustomerFocused & ResultsDriven

  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building longterm client relationships.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that enhance customer retention and satisfaction.

Communication & Negotiation Skills

  • Strong ability to negotiate with suppliers manufacturers and corporate clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
