Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Officer for an Oil & Gas project in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in health safety and environmental (HSE) standards with at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian safety regulations and international HSE standards (OSHA NEBOSH ISO 45001.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHA) to identify workplace hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety policies procedures and training programs.
  • Monitor and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) systems for hazardous activities.
  • Conduct site safety inspections audits and incident investigations reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide safety inductions and toolbox talks to workers ensuring awareness of jobspecific risks.
  • Coordinate with site engineers project managers and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain records of accidents nearmisses and safety violations implementing preventive measures.


Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC Certification (Mandatory).
  • IOSH OSHA or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification (Preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector (Gulf experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with Saudi labor laws HSE regulations and Aramco safety standards.
  • Strong knowledge of fire prevention hazardous material handling and emergency response.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple safety tasks onsite.
