We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Officer for an Oil & Gas project in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in health safety and environmental (HSE) standards with at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian safety regulations and international HSE standards (OSHA NEBOSH ISO 45001.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHA) to identify workplace hazards.
- Develop and implement safety policies procedures and training programs.
- Monitor and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) systems for hazardous activities.
- Conduct site safety inspections audits and incident investigations reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide safety inductions and toolbox talks to workers ensuring awareness of jobspecific risks.
- Coordinate with site engineers project managers and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain records of accidents nearmisses and safety violations implementing preventive measures.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC Certification (Mandatory).
- IOSH OSHA or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification (Preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector (Gulf experience preferred).
- Familiarity with Saudi labor laws HSE regulations and Aramco safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of fire prevention hazardous material handling and emergency response.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple safety tasks onsite.
