Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Technical Accountant SEC and Technical Accounting is a key member of the external financial reporting team and will work closely with the Companys Director SEC and Technical Accounting Chief Accounting Officer and top management team members. The Senior Technical Accountant SEC and Technical Accounting will be responsible for working with the Director SEC and Technical Accounting to ensure regulatory compliance with SEC requirements as well as other newly emerging FASB and regulatory requirements. This position with support the preparation of SEC filings including financial statements and footnote disclosures MD&A and accounting policy memos. The role will report into the Director SEC and technical accounting. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional communication writing and reporting skills.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in a dynamic environment will bring energy and passion and will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves to tackle challenging assignments.

The Senior Technical Accountant SEC and Technical Accounting will collaborate with and work handinhand with Director SEC and Technical Accounting along with the controller business unit corporate tax internal audit and treasury functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare sections of the 10K 10Q and other SEC filings as assigned. Includes preparation and review of cash flows statement of stockholders equity footnotes and supporting workpapers in coordination with the accounting organization.
  • Prepare disclosure and audit committee materials as assigned.
  • Work to develop drive and maintain processes for external financial reporting. Work with external auditors to delivery timely financial statements.
  • Monitor pending accounting pronouncements analyze impact if any to disclosures and provide proactive benchmarking of disclosure practices to management.
  • Assist in the management of the Companys nonroutine transaction process. Serve as an internal technical accounting resource for the operating businesses to support key new or nonstandard transactions and initiatives.
  • Assess and conduct research on U.S. GAAP and SEC Interpretive Releases preparing position papers and amending reporting process accordingly.
  • Participate in the Companys M&A work including researching related technical accounting purchase accounting and other work.
  • Complete periodic work on sharebased compensation; annual impairment testing of goodwill intangibles and other finite lived longlife assets; or other technical topics as assigned.
  • Participate and actively own elements of SarbanesOxley process particularly in coordination with process owners.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • CPA preferred
  • 3 plus years of accounting controls and financial reporting experience.
  • Experience at a Big4 public accounting firm is required. Experience with a largescale company with more than $11.5 billion in revenue is preferred.
  • Experience with Workiva is preferred.
  • SEC reporting experience with fluency in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Experience working on SarbanesOxley and a worldclass control environment.
  • Strong analytical skills attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to manage to a plan.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions a track record of financial due diligence and integration associated with transactions is a plus.
