Do you have a passion for web analytics and a knack for turning data into actionable insights Are you a GA4 expert who thrives on optimizing eCommerce tracking and reporting If so were looking for you!
We are seeking a Web Analytics Specialist with deep expertise in GA4 to support a shortterm project at Amp. This role will focus on strategy implementation and reporting for an eCommerce website transitioning to the BigCommerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web analytics tagging and event tracking with additional experience in GTM and Matomo as a plus.
This freelance engagement will require approximately 80100 hours over 2 months with a heavier workload in the first month to cover strategy and implementation followed by lighter support for reporting and QA.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive GA4 event schema strategy and structure for an eCommerce website.
- Set up GA4 properties and ensure proper tracking for accurate reporting.
- QA tags and events to verify data accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize Google Tag Manager (GTM) for tag deployment and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the AdOps lead to create a Solution Design Reference (SDR) with instructions for clients to develop necessary data layers.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth integration of tracking elements before the paid media launch.
- Provide light reporting support with the bulk of reporting handled by an inhouse analyst under your supervision.
- Conduct light research on Matomo to support its implementation and integration.
Qualifications :
- GA4 expert with extensive experience in eCommerce website tracking and reporting.
- Strong understanding of event schema strategy and structure.
- Handson experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) for tag setup and QA.
- Familiarity with data layers and ability to guide their implementation.
- Experience with Matomo is a plus but not required (time allocated for research if needed).
- Experience working with BigCommerce is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working CST or EST hours.
