Who Youll Work With

When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team youre not just stepping into a role; youre becoming part of a team of industry experts and technical leaders. Typically reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager youll be working alongside some of the most skilled field engineers in the industry. Our team prides itself on not just understanding the technology but also the business impact and aligning our solutions with the larger goals of our clients. In collaboration with our Product Management and Software Development teams you will play a pivotal role in steering product developments offerings and strategic direction to best serve our customers and prospects. Supported by the expertise of our world class Arista TAC cuttingedge proofofconcept resources and support of the executive team you are wellpositioned to lead and innovate within the industry. 

In this position you will be working as a technology expert in the network monitoring space to design implement and support (troubleshoot) Aristas DANZ Monitoring Fabric (Network Packet Broker) and Converged Cloud Fabric network deployments within a number of customer infrastructures. The ideal candidate will also have a level of comfort communicating across all functions within Arista as well as with clients and partners.

What Youll Do

  • You will provide advanced postsales engineering support for Aristas DANZ Monitoring Fabric (DMF) monitoring and Converged Cloud Fabric (CCF) networking deployments for our enterprise and commercial customers.
  • Shadow current field Systems Engineers (SE) and Advanced Services Engineers (ASE) and assist with day to day customer tasks.
  • Assist with migration or interconnect to/from other monitoring and networking vendor products into an Arista infrastructure.
  • Assist with configuration buildouts including creating network provisioning automation using Python and tools such as Ansible.
  • Assist in handson work with customers during product evaluations deployments and postsales support.
  • Assist in handson tests to validate customer proofofconcept setups network designs and network deployments using new products and features. Demonstrate Arista key technical differentiators in the lab.
  • Assist with proof of concepts (POC) and indepth testing to validate design scenarios.
  • Provide bug scrubs and code recommendations for customers. Provide an interface to TAC internal development teams and the customer.
  • Provide customer advice regarding architectural questions product prerequisites product features etc.
  • Assist PreSales Engineer and Account Executives with designing monitoring and network solutions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with teammates partners and clients.
  • Some travel may be required within assigned territory.

Qualifications :

  • BS/CS/CE degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience providing postsales engineering support for monitoring and/or networking solutions.
  • Basic script & programming skills background such as PERL PYTHON Web 2.0 etc.
  • Networking knowledge (Ethernet VLANs VxLAN EVPN IP Routing TCP/IP OSPF BGP eBGP Multicast QoS etc. with handson experience.
  • Experience with network tap aggregation network packet broker and monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Basic technical background in UNIX systems
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to write technical papers is a plus.
  • Internship in a technical field or Sales is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to multitask selfstart work in a dynamic team environment and work independently.
  • Travel to local customer sites and Arista offices.
