We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Claims Specialist who will be responsible for managing and administering Workers Compensation claims across the Viva Energy Group in accordance with the relevant legal requirements that apply in each jurisdiction and selfinsurance framework in Victoria. This role will be based in Adelaide.
As the Senior Claims Specialist you will provide advice to line managers and team members regarding the claims management process and the legal obligations of the parties. This role is responsible for liaising and driving insurers to drive best practice outcomes as well as endtoend claims process including claims receipt determination of liability claims lodgement communication with all parties and ongoing claims management including supporting return to work management and rehabilitation payroll investigations medical assessments reporting claims reviews accounts authorisation and payment. You will also participate in audits and internal quality assurance reviews. With Interstate travel will be required on an as needs basis.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Responsible for the endtoend claims process including claims receipt determination of liability claims lodgment communication with all parties and ongoing claims management including supporting return to work management and rehabilitation payroll investigations medical assessments reporting claims reviews accounts authorization and payment.
- Drive insurers to achieve best practice outcomes
- Responsible for ensuring that information pertaining to the rights of team members and the claims process are readily available in the workplace.
- Prepare regular periodic reports providing insights to the Workers Compensation Manager.
- Ensure early engagement with Health to ensure strategies are being considered to optimize the outcomes of returntowork plans.
- Responsible for the proactive engagement and management of thirdparty service providers including rehabilitation providers and investigators.
- Responsible for the preparation of material for audits and the active participation in the auditing of claims management processes.
- Actively participate in industry events relating to workers compensation innovations best practice and regulatory changes.
Qualifications :
- Experience in managing a claims portfolio with expertise in managing an operating model ideally in both selfinsurance and schemes and setting the standard for managing claims through a personcentered approach.
- Strong working knowledge of the ReturntoWork Act 2014 and associated regulations and legislation in other jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated experience of and understanding of the South Australian Workers Compensation claims management model and the Workers Compensation Acts in other jurisdictions.
- Prior experience in applying injury management and workers compensation best practice to complex workplace injuries and claims.
- Experience in managing tribunal matters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third party supplier service level agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work inclusively with all stakeholders.
