Job Description

Provides custodial and grounds services at the Hurricane Rest Area sites located on I64 in Hurricane WV.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Keeps all custodial and grounds maintenance tasks complete and uptodate.

  • Cuts and trims grass and shovels snow with equipment provided.

  • Monitor rest area grounds and pick up any liter.

  • Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use.

  • Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.

  • Cleans all sinks commodes and mirrors.

  • All other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned. 

  • Various shifts may include: 12hour shift weekends overnight shift.


Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED preferred and one to three months experience and/or training.  Prior custodial experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have ability to pass criminal background check.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
