FPA Associate

We are seeking a detailoriented and analytical FP&A Associate to join our growing finance team in ApprovalMax a marketleading highgrowth SaaS provider of accounting software. In this role you will support strategic decisionmaking by developing financial models analyzing SaaS metrics (ARR MRR CAC LTV churn) and providing insightful forecasts and variance analysis. You will collaborate crossfunctionally to refine budgeting processes optimize financial performance and ensure alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial planning advanced Excel skills and experience with SaaSspecific revenue models and tools. A passion for datadriven decisionmaking and a proactive solutionfocused mindset are essential to thrive in this dynamic environment.

Key Skills

Financial Analysis and Modeling:

• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables advanced formulas financial modeling).
• Experience with forecasting tools (e.g. Adaptive Insights Anaplan or similar) is a plus.

Data Analytics:

• Ability to analyze trends create dashboards and generate actionable insights.
• Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.

SaaS Metrics knowledge:

• Good understanding of core SaaS KPIs such as ARR CAC customer churn/retention NRR/GRR etc.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition rules (ASC 606/IFRS 15.

Accounting Knowledge:

• Strong grasp of financial reporting and GAAP/IFRS principles.
• Revenue recognition for SaaS (deferred revenue multiyear contracts).

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem structuring and solving abilities.
• Robust communication skills (verbal written and presented).

Experience

SaaS or Tech Industry Experience:

• Understanding of SaaSspecific metrics like ARR MRR LTV CAC churn rate and gross margin.
• Experience working in a subscriptionbased revenue model.

FP&A or Analytical Role Experience:

• Budgeting forecasting and financial modeling.
• Variance analysis and scenario planning.

Accounting Software or Systems Experience:

• Direct experience with SaaS accounting software (e.g. Xero QuickBooks NetSuite).
• Exposure to ERP systems is a plus.

Certifications & Software Proficiency

Finance Tools:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Exposure to FP&A platforms (Planful Workday Adaptive or similar) a plus. 

Accounting Certifications (optional but advantageous):

• QuickBooks or Xero certification to demonstrate expertise with accounting systems.

Analytics & Coding (advantageous):

• Basic SQL knowledge for querying financial data.
• Familiarity with Python or R for financial modeling is a plus.

Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in a relevant field:

• Finance
• Accounting
• Economics
• Business Administration

Preferred Credentials:

• CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
• ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
• ACA (Chartered Accountant)
• CFA Level 1 or higher (Chartered Financial Analyst) for candidates with a focus on analytics and strategic finance.
