Lead Engineer

Who Were Looking For

A Lead Engineer is an entrylevel people manager and senior member of our SEEK Group Engineering teams. A Lead Engineer provides inteam leadership and has a broad focus which primarily includes people management team health tech culture and cohesion while also driving the delivery of software within product delivery/systems/platform teams and strengthening engineering quality. Whilst not the primary focus you will still be responsible for writing clean scalable testable code and in ensuring high development practices and standards.
You will be responsible for line management of engineers and actively participate in leading mentoring and developing other engineers. You demonstrate passion for your craft through maintaining team health and functional capabilities as well as ensuring our solutions are meeting SEEKs business and technical needs across our APAC markets.

What Youll Do

Build & Execute

• Guide engineers in building testing deploying and maintaining secure highperformance software.
• Enhance DevOps culture and software engineering practices.
• Ensure platform reliability security and efficiency in collaboration with the Staff Engineer.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents managing oncall processes and reviews.
• Write clean welltested and secure code while adhering to Agile practices.

Support & Strengthen

• Mentor and develop team members fostering an inclusive and engaged culture.
• Lead recruitment onboarding and skill development.
• Contribute to SEEKs communities of practice and continuous learning initiatives.

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For:

• Experience leading technical delivery within a software team and maintaining system health.
• Proven ability to establish and enhance engineering and delivery practices.
• Strong influencing negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in hiring mentoring and developing software engineers.
• Active participation in professional and internal tech communities (e.g. Hackathons).

Essential Qualifications Skills and Experience

Build

• Working in a cross functional software engineering team with some experience in supervising/coaching/mentoring Engineers
• Experience applying and improving continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Support a culture that that promotes continuous improvement in a team environment.
• Demonstrated experience consistently writing welltested readable software using secure coding practices current patterns and tooling
• Has created and maintained software in two or more modern software development languages
• Experience with the design development support and maintenance of cloud first applications and APIs
• Experience using logging and monitoring/alerting tools that will support operational health

Execute

• Drive software development practices such as: Test Driven Development Behavioural Driven Development Clean Code
• Managing operational support duties including oncall support and after hours work as required
• Ability to collaborate with various cross functional stakeholders focusing on outcomes which best serve the overall APAC strategy
• Ability to operate in team with geographically distributed team members
