Job Description
You will be a member of the Symbio Global Infrastructure team in Sydney and involved in delivering the systems platforms & infrastructure that underpin Symbios products globally.
As a Network Engineer in the Network Reliability Engineering team you will work on hardware & software lifecycle projects ensuring we maintain the security & quality of our infrastructure and the customer facings products that it supports.
Help us modernize our tech stack as we develop & rollout new feature & capabilities and as we improve efficiency consistency & quality through improvements to network automation observability and our network operations processes.
Once onboarded this role is expected to participate in the teams afterhours support roster which operates on a rotating schedule every 4 to 6 weeks.
Qualifications :
- 3 years experience in a network engineering role in a Telco/ISP/Enterprise
- Understanding of network architecture and internet protocols
- Strong understanding of OSPF/ISIS & BGP protocols
- Experience in testing network protocols & using test tools in lab environment
- Handson experience with onsite work for hardware & cabling deployment
- Perform network device firmware upgrades conducting thorough risk analysis and ensuring adherence to maintenance window requirements
- Experience with MPLS including MPBGP and L2VPN solutions
- Experience with Cisco Juniper Fortinet and/or Arista configuration
- CISCO/Juniper Certified qualifications is a must have (either or)
- Experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet or Chef) and proficiency with scripting or coding preferably Python
- Exposure to CI/CD tools pipelines and version control such as Gitlab
- Working knowledge of Linux Systems
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- A curious motivated selflearner but also a great team player
- Attention to detail
