Hydraulic Hose Development Specialist - Greenfield

ContiTech develops and produces functional parts components and systems for machine and plant engineering mining the automotive industry and other important industries. We are seeking a Fluid Handling Solutions Hydraulic Hose Product Development Engineer to join our team.

Develop new and innovative fluid handling solutions for hydraulic hoses and assemblies
Coordinate sample and prototype building process including documentation.
Support the local supplier development process (Product Evaluation).
Manage Individual Projects.

Responsible for the design and implementation of hydraulic fluid handling solutions.
This includes the development of tools and processes to support new technology.
Lead Fluid Handling Hydraulic Hose Product Development projects.
Support Product Development projects and tasks as team member.
Provide support to other functions & departments as a Product Development team member.
Exchange know how throughout regional and global locations.
Support global standardization and consolidation of product specifications .

Develop hydraulic hose fittings and assembly specifications to define materials and process steps for building prototypes and final products.
Define and specify tooling as required.
Develop new hose and fitting constructions to improve hose functionality and performance.
Obtain the materials for producing sample hose fittings and assemblies to fulfill the project/customer requirement.

Ensure project plans are defined to reach the Product Development project targets.  Regularly review status of projects for timeliness and completion of requirements.
Assess product requests from PLC with feasibility studies.
Support of Application Engineering PPI Operations and Quality departments to satisfy PLC requirements.

Work with PPI to ensure a successful product launch and stable production process (low s rate robust product data).
Coordinate with controller for cost calculations.
Provide support to evaluate processability sample production s rate and sample quality.
Support of localization activities (materialsR&D and processesPPI).

Define DFMEA and product DVP to meet the project requirement book and develop test plans and procedures
Define procedures for requalification plan (audit plan).

Work with Technology and Purchasing to define specifications and test procedures for raw material suppliers.
Assist in the development of new alternative material suppliers.

Define necessary new test methods to check product quality.
Organize the prototype testing by labs.
Evaluate the test results documentation of test results for discussion with application engineering and/or customer.
Benchmark testing of competitive product.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in  Mechanical Engineer or BS Chemical Engineer.
• Experience in the development of technical products.
• Experience 35 years with rubber and thermoplastic products.
